Home Learning Tasks for the Brilliant Bears’

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday! Today is Wednesday 1st April. The first day of a new month! I wonder what April will bring for us Brilliant Bears? Can you set yourself a new target for this month? Mine is to read a book, do you think I can do it?

Morning activities

Keep working on getting yourselves dressed Brilliant Bears, I will be checking with your grown-ups when we all come back to school!  Join in with the daily PE lesson with Joe Wicks. When you are doing the exercises talk about what happens to your body.

Today is the same spell as yesterday, see if you can remember the moves to the spell and perfect it!

Tree fu Tom super lifto spell:

In the Brilliant Bears, we love singing songs about letters and sounds.  This is a song you all know really well so sing along and help your grown-up to join in too.  What letter does your name begin with?  Can you find an item in your house that begins with that letter? Can you find other items in your house using your other letters in your name?

We sing this song everyday in Nursery, it helps us to remember our own and other peoples initial (first) sound.

Story Time

Today can you read a story involving rhyme?  The gingerbread man is a great story!

Together at the correct time:,say “Run run, as fast as you can. You can catch me I’m a gingerbread man” but miss out the can and man for the children to fill in.

Afterwards, ask your child if they can remember the rhyming words in the story.

Click on the book to listen to the story

The Gingerbread Man - World Book Day

Please talk about the different shapes on the video, it is interactive so your child can show you which are the correct shapes!

Inside your pack you either have an egg or chick to decorate with different shapes. Can you talk about the different shapes that you see on your sheet, cut them out and stick them in the correct place.

If you cannot stick them, you could arrange them, carefully and take a picture. Then you can mix them up then do it again! Or even mix them up and see if your grown-up can do it

Topic (Wake Up and Grow)

Today please talk about:

Where do people celebrate Easter?

Parents/Carers: please talk about the different points on the picture below with your child.

Below I have attached a video of a church, some of you may have been lucky enough to have already been in a church, but please watch it anyway and refresh your memory!

Now you have watched the video what did you like about the church?

What is the difference between a church and your home?

Don’t forget to trace over your name daily.  We’d love you all to be able to write this when we get back to nursery.  Our name is a very important part of who we are.

After practising your name can you draw a gingerbread man and write those rhyming words you have been learning . If you ned some help ask a grown-up to write the letters for you to copy or trace over.

Funky Fingers

Thread your straws onto your string, as you do this count the pieces. How many do you have ? Can you find other things in you home to thread onto your string.

You could email us some pictures of your learning, we would love to see them!

Lie down and listen to some relaxing music. At nursery we like listening to Disney piano music, here is the link:

Listen to the relaxing music, now start to breathe slowly. Can you think of something you love to do, and the people you love to do it with. When feeling calm, slowly sit up. Keep that nice slow breathing going and when ready, share what you were thinking of with somebody in your house.

I hope your feeling calm and relaxed after our mindfulness today!

We are all still missing you at nursery Brilliant Bears!

Have a great Wednesday

lots of love
