Friday 27th March 2020

Good Morning everyone, well, we’re at the end of our first week of learning at home and blogging, I hope that you have enjoyed some of the different activities and have also had chance to get active and (safely) enjoy a bit of the sunshine we have had!

Phonics / GPS

We have been working on different suffixes for the last few weeks, add –s or –es to these words to make plurals;

fox, chick, pencil, table, witch, book, box, church, folder

Collective Worship

Our collective worship for today is all about Celebration. Who in your house would you give the Bucket Filler award to and why? Can you think of something that you have done that would make you the Fantastic Fox of the week?

Mathematics

Complete the Easter egg fractions sheet, you’ll find it with the newsletters. If you can’t or don’t want to print it draw the eggs into your book before you work out the answers.

Playtime

Make up your own game to play or choose one of the online activities from the website links page.

English

Can you choose either the Little Bird Spelling or Spooky Spellings to practise the common exception words for Year 2 at

https://www.topmarks.co.uk/english-games/5-7-years/words-and-spelling

If you can’t access this I have put a list of the words on the website with the newsletters that you could use to practise with.

Lunchtime

Enjoy a break and choose your favourite activity from this week to do after you have eaten your lunch.

RE

We had started to learn about the Easter Story, can you watch the Beginners Bible Easter story online at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PSgoPdKQFQ&safe=active and talk to someone in your house about what happens on each day. Can you draw and decorate a cross in your red book?

Story time

Curl up in a comfy chair to share an animal story with someone in your house.

Message for today

Have a mini vote in your house to choose your well-earned ‘Bucket Filling Bonanza’ and enjoy whatever you choose. I think mine will be a cup of tea and a chocolate biscuit! If you would like or need an extra activity for over the weekend Miss Thurston has put instructions on how to make a rainmaker musical instrument on the website with the newsletters and other links. Stay well and have a safe weekend, love from Miss Jones and Mrs Hallam.
