Thursday 14th May 2020

Good morning to all of you Fantastic Foxes! I chose todays picture because even though we can’t all be together at the moment we still have so many things to be thankful for. I am thankful that I get to write your activities each day and then see your work. What are you thankful for today?

Phonics / GPS

Are you reading them in less than one minutes yet Foxes? Keep practising! https://www.langleymillinfantschool.co.uk/uploads/517/grade/459127_grade_file.pdf

Did you manage to find all of the words in yesterdays wordsearch? Do you think that you would be able to make your own wordsearch using some of the words from the list? There is a blank grid on the website if you need it, follow this link

Collective Worship

Our Collective Worship value for today is LEARN.

In our story the shepherd would not stop looking for his sheep until he had found it safe and well. How do you think that he might have felt when he realised that one of his sheep was missing? Have you ever lost anything that is special or important to you? How did it make you feel? When you found it again how did your feelings change?

At the end of our collective worships at school we would usually say a prayer together.

See if you can sing our prayer song before saying this short prayer at home.

Thank you for the world so sweet

Thank you for the food we eat

Thank you for the birds that sing

Thank you God for everything

Amen

(The children should recognise this prayer as it is one we say in school)

Read or listen to the story again if you need to. Today we are going to write our own stories, I would like you to choose one of the animals that Oliver sees at the farm to write your story about. You could use a story that you know to help you, like The Little Red Hen or The Ugly Duckling.

Lunchtime

Find a different task to do once you have had something to eat, did you have a milkshake too? I'm having a raspberry one today, it looks delicious!

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/clips/zvfhfg8

then there are some questions in the 'Classroom activities' which are below the video clip, to look at with your grown-up. Lastly you need to write an untraditional fairy tale, with a girl being the hero, rescuing a boy.

Story time

For story time today you can read your untraditional tale to someone in your house. What do they think of the twist in the tale?

May Challenge for today

As it is thankful Thursday today tell someone in your house why you are thankful for them, I guarantee that it will make their day!
