Wednesday 3rd June 2020

Good morning Fantastic Foxes! I hope you had a super first day of home learning yesterday, the children in our Fantastic Foxes Bubble were hard at work too. We have already put up our bubble pictures and our microbe characters. Don’t forget to send us yours too, so we make amazing displays in the classroom. Lots of todays activities are all about keeping ourselves safe and well at the moment. These are things that you can do at home in your family bubble too.

Phonics / GPS

Our Wednesday morning phonics task today is to think about all of the suffixes that we know and see which ones we can still remember. It is quite a while since we did any so it will be good for our brains to go over them again. We know how to add all of these suffixes,

-s  -es  -ing  -ed  -ful  -less  -ment  -ly  - ness

To the end of words to make new ones. Sometimes it changes the type of words and sometimes it changes the root word. Follow the link to the activity booklet on the website all about using suffixes. This will be our task for the rest of the week Foxes so you can work your way through the activities each day.

Collective Worship

Our Collective Worship value for today is RESPECT.

Can you remember the part of the slideshow yesterday that showed three friends that were are linked together? Just like the three parts of the Holy Trinity. At the moment we can’t link arms with our friends, but we can think about them and share our love and respect for them. Can you choose two friends and draw a picture of all three of you together? You could add a message too. Send your picture to your teacher using your class email so that we can print them and display them around school. The link to the slideshow is just below if you would like to look again.

English

Today we are going to read another story all about what is happening in the world, the pictures have been drawn by one of our favourite illustrators, Axel Scheffler. It is all about the changes we have seen in the world and has lots of information about coronavirus and how we can keep ourselves safe.

Once you have read the story can you write a list of rules that you think would be good for us to have a school and at home to keep us all safe at the moment, what do you need to remember?

Lunchtime

The children in school will be having their packed lunch with Mrs Hallam today, where will you have your lunch?

Topic

This afternoon Foxes we are going to carry on thinking about keeping our bodies safe from germs and using good hygiene to keep ourselves healthy. This is always very important, but especially now we need to be extra careful. Watch the slideshow and then create a set of hygiene rules for your family bubble, you could write these in your books or make a poster or sign.
