One more day until the weekend – here are your activities for today.

Remember, don’t worry if you don’t get chance to do them all choose the ones which best fit in with your daily routine.

Phonics

Back to words which have four sounds today!  Use these words – clap, just, list and pink - to play games with your child e.g. What sounds can you hear? Make letter cards and put them in the right order or have a go at writing them in your books.   Can you put any of the words into a sentence? Have a go at writing a sentence in your book.

Extra challenge - Can you use the letters to build any different words?

Collective Worship

It’s celebration Assembly day again!

Who in your family has done something to celebrate this week? Who has joined in with all of our Zumba dances or made the best Gingerbread man?

Can you make them a certificate?

PSED - Personal, Social, Emotional Development

Have a think about what makes you feel proud.  What are you proud of this week? Which activity have you done to the very best of your ability? Which could you try even harder with next time?

PD - Physical Development

Last day of Zumba!

Today try Zumba Kids – Dance Monkey

Remember, if you prefer one of the other PD activities we have suggested you can do that instead!

CL - Communication and Language

Talk with your grown up about how you could change the story of the Gingerbread Man – can you think of a different ending, maybe the fox didn’t eat him or a different beginning, maybe they didn’t bake a Gingerbread man and made a runaway pancake instead or different characters might join the chase, you choose!

L - Literacy

Find a recipe for baking gingerbread – what will you need? Where did you find the recipe? Was it in a book or did you use the internet? There are lots of different places we can look to find things out.

M - Mathematical Development

For Maths today can you make some repeating patterns using your toys, building blocks for anything else you think would work?

Mrs McCordick would make a pattern using her hat and scarf collection – she has LOTS!!!

Lunchtime

After you’ve eaten lunch and helped to clean up, design a meal that you may be able to have next week.

What are your favourite foods?

UW – Understanding the World.

Following the recipe you found, can you bake some gingerbread men?

You can help with weighing the ingredients, mixing them and rolling and cutting the dough, but please let your grown-ups put them in the oven!

Remember to wash your hands!
