Morning Marvellous Moles!  How was your weekend? Did you get up to any fun activities over the weekend with your families? This week we will be thinking all about sports as this week would have been sports day if we were all in school together. There will be lots of practical, physical activities this week so get warming up! Please remember to keep emailing your work to us in school.

Marvellous Moles Home Learning Tasks:

Phonics

This week we will be looking at words which end in the sound ‘ng’ we say this is two letters but one sound and record them together on our sound cards.

Use these words – king, ring, song and sing- to play games with your child e.g. what sounds can you hear? Make letter cards and put them in the right order or have a go at writing them in your books. Can you put any of the words into a sentence? Have a go at writing a sentence in your book.

Collective Worship

This week all of our collective worship activities are based on one of our school key values, RESPECT

This week should have been sports day in school, unfortunately due to the current situation we are not able to have sports day in school but lots of our blog activities are linked to sports day.

Today we are going to look at a PowerPoint all about sports day and the different things a good sports person needs to be like. The PowerPoint will be in the files section of your class webpage. The PowerPoint is a bit like an acrostic poem. Each page comes together to spell the word sports day. On each page you will find a word that starts with each letter and an explanation of what these things are.

Once you have finished the PowerPoint, I would like you to think of a list of people that sports men and women need to show respect towards.

M - Mathematical Development

This week we will be carrying on with our measures topic. Read or watch the story ‘How much does a ladybird weigh’ talk about the different animals in the story and the fact that the animals are getting larger each time but the amount is getting smaller. Look at the animals below, can you draw a picture of a different animal, which weighs more or less?

Sports fun activity

As this week would have been sports day in school, we will be setting lots of sports related activities.  Today we have a story for you to watch all about a sports day in a school. Which events do you think you would enjoy the most? Which do you think you would be the best at? Have a go at some of the events from the story with your family to find out.
