Marvellous Moles Home Learning Tasks Friday 15th May 2020

Date: 14th May 2020 @ 8:49pm

Friday 15th May 2020

It’s Friday again Marvellous Moles! How have you got on with your activities this week?  What has been your favourite thing to do?

We are so proud of all your hard work (and your grown-ups too!) and we hope we will be able to see you all again really soon.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Marvellous Moles Home Learning Tasks:

Back to words which have four sounds today!  Use these words – shift, fresh, crash and trash - to play games with your child e.g. what sounds can you hear? Make letter cards and put them in the right order or have a go at writing them in your books.   Can you put any of the words into a sentence? Have a go at writing a sentence in your book.

Extra challenge - Can you use the letters to build any different words?

Collective Worship

It’s our Celebration Collective Worship day today. Who has done something to celebrate this week? Maybe everyone in your house has done something kind, or helpful? Maybe someone has achieved something new?

Have a look back through the work you have done in your home learning books this week, is there a piece you are especially proud of? Ask your grown-up to send a picture of this work to your teacher to help celebrate what you have done.

PSED - Personal, Social, Emotional Development

Yesterday we thought about staying safe, who it was okay to speak to and where it was safe to go.

Today we’d like you to think about what you would do if you ever got lost or separated from your grown-up when you are out.

Who would be a good person to speak to get help? Should you stay put, or wander off?

Should you ever go away with someone who you don’t know?

PD -Physical Development

We’ve done a mixture of physical activities this week, and today we’re going to do a bit of relaxing yoga.  Hope you’re feeling bendy!

CL - Communication and Language

Look at this picture from the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears and use it to answer the questions below.

Q1. Whose bed is Goldilocks in? How can you tell this from the picture?

Q2. What colour is Mummy Bear’s dress?

Q3. Where is the blue teddy? (Remember to use words to answer and not just point!)

Can you think of another question to ask about this picture?

L - Literacy

You know the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears really well now, so today we’d like you change something in the story. (you had a practise at this last week)

Could it become ‘Goldilocks and the Three Dinosaurs’?

The bears might have cornflakes for breakfast, instead of porridge?

Goldilocks could break Baby’s favourite toy, instead of his chair?

Draw a picture and write a sentence to go with it.

M - Mathematical Development

For maths today we’d like you to think about capacity – how much space there is inside something.  Look in your kitchen for some different sized pots.  Fill your sink, bath or a water tray or bucket outside, with water.  How many small pots does it take to fill the big one?  Which pot holds the most?  Which pot holds the least? Water play is so much fun – maybe you could add some bubbles?   Remember to mop up any spills!
