Friday 17th July 2020

Happy Friday Marvellous Moles! Today is the last day of the school year… and what a year it’s been!  Who ever would have thought that we would have been at home all this time?!  We have missed you all so much, but we are all SO proud of everything you have achieved, even though you’ve not been able to be at school.

As you know, today is my last day, before I leave to begin a new adventure!

I have enjoyed my time at Langley Mill Infant School and loved getting to know each, and every one of you!   I will miss you all; but I know that you will all continue to be brilliant, and that makes me very happy! 😊

Have a lovely summer!

Love from Mrs McCordick xx

Marvellous Moles Home Learning Tasks:

We are going to carry on thinking about the different spellings for the sound ‘l’ today – l/ll/le

Write the following words onto cards, then ask your child to read each word and then sort them into sets according to which ‘l’ they contain.

middle, let, lips, fiddle, kettle, mill, well, lemon, loss, flip, flop, doll, till, giggle

Now have a go at thinking of a sentence (or two!) using some of these words and writing it down.

Collective Worship

Today is our last celebration collective worship of the school year!

We are going to give out some different awards today, I would like you to think about who has been the best teacher in your house and has been making the learning fun, the best cook that has been making the tastiest meals and the most impressive athlete who has stayed active every day! Can you think of any other awards that you could give out?

Make some certificates for your winners!

 Mathematical Development

Revisit to interactive clock from yesterday.  Can you remember what it means when the big (minute) hand points at the 12?  Practise making the clock say…1 o’clock, 5 o’clock, 9 o’clock etc

Once you’re happy that you can do that, give this game a try… if you’re not able to print it, you could make your own!

Reading Activity

I’ve got a story for you today that’s all about saying ‘Goodbye’.

We say all different kinds of ‘goodbyes’ all the time, some are easy, some are more difficult. Saying goodbye can involve lots of feelings too.

It’s important to talk about them!
