Marvellous Moles Home Learning Tasks Friday 1st May 2020

Date: 30th Apr 2020 @ 7:46pm

Friday 1st May 2020

Wow Moles, can you believe it is the first day of May already! Hopefully the sunshine will return soon (it was SO rainy yesterday!) and we will be back together in school to enjoy it together soon. Here are your learning tasks for the last day of the week!

Marvellous Moles Home Learning Tasks:

Back to words which have four sounds today!  Use these words – fluff, sniff, dress and press - to play games with your child e.g. what sounds can you hear? Make letter cards and put them in the right order or have a go at writing them in your books.   Can you put any of the words into a sentence? Have a go at writing a sentence in your book.

Extra challenge - Can you use the letters to build any different words?

Collective Worship

It’s our Celebration Collective Worship day today and we are going to think about our theme for this week to help us to give out our special awards.

We have seen lots of rainbows everywhere recently and they are used a symbol of unity and hope around the world and for many different reasons.

Can you make them a rainbow themed certificate and write on it just like the teachers do for you?

PSED - Personal, Social, Emotional Development

Now you have watched ‘The True Story of the Three Little Pigs’ (link in CL activity) think about which of the versions of the story you think is true, do you think that the pigs are telling the truth or the wolf?

PD -Physical Development

You can choose your favourite activity we have suggested so far today, will it be Zumba, yoga or Joe Wicks? Or you could go on a bike or scooter ride as part of your daily exercise today.

CL - Communication and Language

Watch ‘The True Story of the Three Little Pigs’ on you tube. Do you like this version as much as the first one we heard? Which parts of the story are the same or different? Talk to your grown-up about it.

L - Literacy

Now you have heard both versions of the story of the week decide which your favourite part of either story. Draw a picture of it in your home learning book and write a sentence to go with it. Remember to say the sounds and write the word.

We will be looking for capital letters, finger spaces and full stops too!

M - Mathematical Development

We are continuing to think about how amounts change again today. We have a fun game in which you have to help curious George in the museum! Some of the treasures are missing from the displays and it is your job to help him find out how many have gone, remember each one needs to add up to 10.

Who in your house has eaten all of their lunch today? Tell your grown-up about our clean plate stickers, what do you have to do to get one? Who in your house would get one today? Why don’t you design one of your own?

UW – Understanding the World.

If your house is anything like ours your recycling bin will be overflowing! Why don’t you use some of the boxes in your recycling to make a junk model of one of the Three Little Pigs’ houses. Have a look which boxes would be the best shapes for the various parts of the house.

We know you will love this activity as our junk modelling table is always full of your super creations at school!

Don’t forget to take a picture to send into us.
