Good morning Moles! How did you get on with yesterday’s activities?
Are you an expert doubler yet, or do you need a little more practise? It’s absolutely fine if you do, that’s why we practise in lots of different ways!
We are so proud of all your hard work – keep going!
Here are your learning activities for today.
Marvellous Moles Home Learning Tasks:
Yesterday we looked at the ‘tch’ sound, we say that this is three letters but one sound.
We are going to work with this sound again today, but this time we’d like you to play the sound swap game – can you remember what to do?
Make cards for the sounds p, l, h, a and tch
Then build the word p-a-tch – remember to say the sounds and read the word.
Now change the word from patch to latch…which sound do you need to change?
Then change latch to hatch…
Remember to say the sounds and read the word each time.
Can you think of any other words you could make if you added some extra letters?
I wonder if you can use any of these words in a sentence?
Why not have a go at writing your sentence and sending us a photo?
Our Collective Worship value for today is SERVE.
If you need to remind yourself about Trinity Sunday use the slideshow from the start of the week. Jesus was always serving others and helping them, can you think of three ways that you could be like Jesus and serve others? Share your ideas with your grown-up, will you be able to do all of them this week? When you have talked about them get ready for our prayer, can you remember the song?
We know God is always there,
Now it’s time to say our prayer,
Stretch hands wide and give a clap,
Fold them safely in your lap,
We know God is always there,
Now it’s time to say our prayer.
Now you are ready can you think of three things that you would like to thank God for, remember to end your prayer with Amen.
PSED - Personal, Social, Emotional Development
Did you enjoy the story from yesterday? Miss Gordon and I think it’s lovely!
Can you remember what things Hedgehog and Tortoise did, to make each other happy? Today we’d like you to think about things that you can do to make someone happy when you can’t give them a hug. It can be things you may have done already, or maybe you can think of something new?
I’ll start…I wrote a letter to my Nanny Tup (the one who is 94 years old!) and sent her some drawings from my boys…
PD - Physical Development
Miss Thurston has another fun game for you to today - Stomp, Clap, Jump.
With a partner complete the sequence of stomp, clap, jump – taking it in turns i.e. Person A stomps, Person B claps, Person A jumps, Person B stomps and so on…see if you can keep it going!
When you’re really good at this sequence, you could make up a new one to try, with different actions.
CL - Communication and Language
We’ve been thinking about germs this week – here is a story for you to watch called ‘The Journey of a Germ’
It shows us exactly why we need to be so careful with washing our hands!
Talk about it with your grown up when you have finished watching – did you find out anything you didn’t know before?
L - Literacy
Another story for you to watch – Sid the Science Kid!
Thinking about what you know about not spreading germs, what advice would you give to Sid’s dad? Write a sentence and draw a picture to help Sid’s dad know what he should do.
M - Mathematical Development
We are learning about doubles – today we’d like you to find or make some dominoes.
See if you can find all the dominoes which have doubles on…how do you know which ones are doubles?
When you’ve found them all, draw them in your book and write ‘double ___ is ___’ next to them.
Why not have a game of dominoes when you’ve finished!
As always, remember to wash your hands carefully before you eat lunch today.
After you’ve helped to clean up, wash your hands again, then choose your favourite story and spend some time enjoying the story together, before moving on to your afternoon activities. Who doesn’t love a good book!
UTW – Understanding the World
Remember to keep an eye on the experiment you set up yesterday and be sure to let us know when something happens!
EAD – Expressive Arts and Design
Can you find the picture you drew of a germ, yesterday? Today we’d like you to make a 3D model of your germ. You could use things from your recycling bin, clay, playdough, salt dough or anything else you can think of!
