Tuesday 21st April 2020

Hello again Moles!  We hope you enjoyed yesterday’s activities and managed to spend some time in the beautiful sunshine.

Here are some more ideas to keep you busy.

Remember, don’t worry if you don’t get chance to do them all choose the ones which best fit in with your daily routine.

Marvellous Moles Home Learning Tasks:

Phonics

In phonics we have been using our knowledge and skills to read sentences.

Read the following sentence and then answer the question below.

The man had a red spot on his hand.

Q. Where did the man have a red spot?

Collective Worship

Our collective worship value for today is SERVE.

Thinking about the story of Daniel in the Lions’ Den (you can watch it again if you like) - talk about how Daniel served God, but ended up in the Lions’ Den.

Sometimes it can be difficult to serve, but you should always do your best.

Why don’t you draw a picture of Daniel in the Lions’ Den?

PSED - Personal, Social, Emotional Development

Think about the fox in The Gingerbread Man – What sort of character is he?

Is he good…bad…sneaky…sly...kind…helpful? How do you know this?

 Physical Development

Did you enjoy the Zumba yesterday?

Communication and Language

Remembering the story of The Gingerbread Man from yesterday, can you re-tell the story using different voices for each character? What might the little old Lady or Man sound like? How about the sneaky fox, have fun practising them!

 Literacy

Today we would like you to write a list in your books of all the characters in the story of the Gingerbread man.  You could even try to remember which order we met them in the story. Use your phonic skills to help you – Say the sounds, write the word!

Mathematical Development

For Maths today, can you design a patterned t-shirt for the Gingerbread Man to wear?  Will it be spotty, stripy or even have swirls or zigzags. Draw your design into you book.

Lunchtime

Can your grown-up to remember our Lunchtime Prayer today?

After you’ve eaten lunch and tidied up, why not choose your favourite song and make up a dance to go with it? You could always copy the moves from one of our Zumba or Yoga routines.

 Understanding the World.

Science time!  Think about the end of our story, why didn't the Gingerbread Man want to go into the river? Have a go at this little experiment to find out! Ask for a snack of a biscuit and a cup of milk.

What do you think will happen to the biscuit if you dip it into the milk?

Give it a try, see if your prediction is correct.

Now eat your biscuit - yummy!
