Marvellous Moles Home Learning Tasks:

Phonics

This week we have been thinking about the different spellings of the l/ll/le sound.

Today we are going to use all three of these sounds.  To do this we will play a game of Symbol Search, so make a grid containing these sounds and any others you want to practise to fill all the boxes.

Today we are going to have a look at the slideshow all about moving on to our new classes or schools. It has Cody the Caterpillar in too, the story that we have already read will help you to answer some of today’s questions. Find the slideshow on your class page and talk about each page with your grown- up.

Did you enjoy playing in the toy shop yesterday? We hope you managed to find the right coins to pay for everything. Today we would like you to think about how we can make larger amounts using smaller coins.

If we wanted to pay for something costing 7p we could use a 5p and a 2p. Can you work out which smaller coins we could use to pay for the following amounts?

Record it in your learning books in the following way,

3p = 1p+2p

5p= 2p+2+1p

Summer fun activity

Today we would like to share our favourite stories with you. Miss Gordon’s is ‘Room on the Broom’ and Mrs McCordick’s is ‘The fish who could wish’ below are links for both of the stories for you to watch. What is your favourite story? Can you share it with us? You could either draw a picture of the story, write a sentence to tell us what happens in the story or you could even film yourself reading it and send it to us.
