Wednesday 17th June 2020

Good morning!  We hope you enjoyed yesterday’s activities. Thank you to all those who shared your memories with us yesterday, it made us feel quite touched to see all of the things you have enjoyed while being part of the Marvellous Moles. Here are your activities for today.

Marvellous Moles Home Learning Tasks:

Phonics

Today we would like you to have a go at the symbol search game. Make a grid like the one we have made below. Remember that each time you find a sound you need to write it in the air first, then have a go at writing it on your own saying the sound as you write it. How many words can you think of for each sound?

Collective Worship

In all of our classes in school, we are learning new things every day. One way we do this is by having a positive attitude to our learning and ensuring that we do not give up and keep on trying even when we find things difficult. We have enjoyed reading a book called ‘Bubble Gum Brain’ to help us learn more about how we can stretch our brains to keep on learning new things every day. Have a look at the story in the link and think of some of the things you can do now, which you could not do at the start of the year. How stretchy is your bubble gum brain?

M - Mathematical Development

Carrying on with our topic on odd and even numbers, we would like you to have a go at the following worksheet. You could always use your Numicon pictures from yesterday to help you. See how many you can get right without a grow-up helping you. We have added the link to the worksheet if you would prefer to print it out.

Class memory activity

In school we have lots of mottos or sayings which we use to help us during our day. One of our favourites is;

‘Choose it, use it, and put it away’

We say this when we have finished with one of our toys or activities and we want to keep our classroom tidy.

Another motto we have been using in school, especially recently is;

COVID-19 Advice Update | Norman Gate School

This helps us to remember to help us not spread the germs when we are together.

Today we would like you to think of a new saying or motto, which the new Marvellous Moles will be able to use in our class next year.

Please send them to us and we can turn them into posters to put up around our classroom.
