Good morning! It was so lovely to speak to you all yesterday, it really brightened my day to hear that you are safe and well and trying hard with your learning. Well done to all your grown-ups for all the work you are putting in and thank you to all our Marvellous Moles for continuing to learn at home.
Remember to send us some pictures of your work to
We can’t wait to hear from you!
Marvellous Moles Home Learning Tasks:
Today we are going to practise writing a dictated sentence. For this usually the teacher slowly reads out a sentence one word at a time and the children have a go at recording it. Grown-ups can you read out the sentence for the children to record it in their books.
The sentence is:
The pigs got in a mess in the mud.
Don’t forget your capital letter, finger spaces and full stop! You are brilliant at reminding me to do these in class.
Now then, Marvellous Moles can you read the sentence for your grown-up's to write it out?
How did they do?
Our collective worship value for today is ASPIRE. Talk to the children about what this means. Daniel aspired to serve God, even when it was difficult.
How do you aspire to serve God?
PSED - Personal, Social, Emotional Development
How do you think the Little Old Woman felt when the Gingerbread Man ran away? What about the other characters such as the fox when he played the trick at the end or the Gingerbread man when he was faster than everyone else?
Can you think of the different ways you sometimes feel?
PD - Physical Development
We hope you are enjoying the Zumba this week?
Today try Zumba Kids – Old Town Road
CL - Communication and Language
Remembering the story of The Gingerbread Man. Can you use the puppets you made on Monday to retell the story. Remember the order of the characters who chased the Gingerbread man and the different types of voices you have been practising.
L - Literacy
Re-read or watch the story of the Gingerbread Man. Think carefully about where the Gingerbread Man went, as he ran away. Can you draw a map of his journey? Start with the cottage and finish with the river. Where did he go in between?
M - Mathematical Development
For Maths today, can you draw the Gingerbread Man and give him buttons with a repeating pattern?
Which colours will you choose? How many colours will you use in your pattern? Please record them in your books.
After you’ve eaten lunch and tidied up go outside to play a game.
You could play Hide and Seek, Tag, Stuck in the Mud, What’s the Time Mr Wolf, or anything else that you enjoy! Remember all the fun games Miss Jowett and Miss Thurston have taught you.
EAD – Expressive Arts and Design.
Design your own Gingerbread Man (or woman) using playdough, card or paper – use your own ideas.
Remember to let us know how you are getting on using our class email.
