Wednesday 1st April 2020

Good Morning Marvellous Moles, we hope you are all well. Remember that today is the 1st of April (April fool’s day) try to play a little trick on someone in your house!

Marvellous Moles Home Learning Tasks:

Phonics

As you know we are following the Sounds Write phonics teaching scheme in school. Have a go at the speed read game on their website. How many words can you read in 30 seconds? Record it in your book. We are currently working on Unit 9, if these are a little too tricky choose one of the lower units.

Collective Worship

Our collective worship value for today is ASPIRE. Talk to the children about what this means. Jesus aspired to share God’s love.  How could you do that in your house today?

PSED - Personal, Social, Emotional Development

Can you think about some things which you might be able to do all by yourself and some things which you might still need a little help with? Such as fastening your laces or buttons.  Choose one of these things and challenge yourself to have a go, are you getting better the more you try? Remember our work on perseverance!

PD - Physical Development

Talk together about your daily routine since schools has been closed, which things are similar or different to the day we have at school? Tell your grown –up about our daily timetable at school, can you remember what’s on it and in which order? Make a time table in your book for the things you have been doing at home e.g. get up, get dressed, have breakfast etc.

L - Literacy

During our phonics time at school the children have been getting really good at thinking of rhyming words. See if you can think of and write your own rhyming string in your book? E.g. Cat-bat-hat-mat-sat-pat

L - Mathematical Development

3D Shapes – Build a junk model? What shapes have you used? What creation have you made?
