Home Learning Tasks for The Wonderful Wolves

Good morning everyone. It’s the 1st day of May already. I can’t believe how quickly the weeks seem to be passing. We are missing you all so much at school and can’t wait until you can all come back again. Below is the home learning for today, remember it can be completed in any order.

Phonics / GPS

In phonics this week we have looked at the /ar/ sound.

Go to phonics play can you play either “Trash or Treasure” or “Obb and Bob” for the /ar/ sound this can be found in phase 3. Whilst on phonics play can you also have a practice at reading your high-frequency words. You can use tricky word trucks to do this.

Collective Worship

It’s our CELEBRATION Collective Worship day today and we are going to think about our theme for this week to help us to give out our special awards. We have seen lots of rainbows everywhere recently and they are used a symbol of unity and hope around the world and for many different reasons. Can you make them a rainbow themed certificate and write on it just like the teachers do for you?

Today I would like you to think about what Grandma Mainland did on her visit to the Island of Struay. I would like you to pretend to be Grandma Mainland and write an email to tell someone back home what you have been up to on the Island of Struay. If you would like to make this even more realistic you could ask you grown-ups if you can use a computer or tablet to write the email and send it to me at the class email address – ww@langleymill-inf.derbyshire.sch.uk

Spend a little bit of time doing something you enjoy. This may be having a few minutes relaxing on your own, reading a magazine, doing a jigsaw or something completely different.

The videos for today can be found at https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-1/ . Today the video can be found in Summer Term Week one and is called “Lesson 2 - Make equal groups (grouping)” Enjoy watching the video, if at any point you do not understand feel free to watch the video again or pause it to ask your grown-ups for help. Then use your blue book to record the answers to the questions in the activity section.

Can you fill your grown-up’s serve bucket this lunchtime? Can you ask them if there is anything you can do around the house to help them a little?
