Home Learning Tasks for The Wonderful Wolves

Good Morning, everyone, I hope you have had an enjoyable weekend and have been able to get some rest. It has been nice to have the warmer weather back again which definitely makes having to stay home much easier. Below is the home learning for today, remember to keep sharing your pictures with us on the class email.

Phonics / GPS

In phonics this week we are going to be looking at the sound /oo/. We have already looked at the spellings ‘oo, ew, ue, u-e and o’ but the spellings ‘u, ui, ou and ough.’ can also make the /oo/ sound. This can u like super, ui like fruit, ou like group or ough like through.

In your blue books can you make three lists of words like we do in our phonics lessons at school one list for each new spelling of /oo/.

Collective Worship

Our collective worship value for today is SERVE.

The story that we are going to be thinking about this week is one from the Old Testament of the Bible. It is called ‘Jonah and the Whale’. If you have a Bible or a Bible storybook you can read your own version of the story. If you haven’t you can watch it by following this link.

Sometimes it is difficult to serve God – Usually, Jonah was happy to serve God, by when God asked him to go to Nineveh he decided not to – Why did he not do as God had asked him?

English

This week we are going to look in detail at letters. We know Katie Morag lives helping to deliver the letters on the Island of Struay. We also know that she enjoys writing to Grandma Mainland. In the files section of the class website, I have added a document called letters. This contains letters and other writing such as postcards, adverts and notes. Can you use your phonic knowledge to read them before talking about which category each fits into?

Playtime

Today for playtime can you use the Change4Life website and play one of the Shake Up games.
