Home Learning Tasks for The Wonderful Wolves

Good Morning everyone, your first week of home learning is coming to an end. Mrs Rose, Mrs Hewitt and Mrs Clarke have missed having you all in school this week. We have enjoyed hearing about what you have been doing at home through your blogs.

Look out for next week’s blog and see what exciting things you can do at home to keep your brain active.

Phonics / GPS

In phonics we have looked at the /ay/ sound. The spellings we have looked at are “ai, ay, ea, and a-e

We like to play games with other people within our classroom. Can you play this game with a grown-up or older sibling? Roll a dice and see what number you land on, choose one of the words on that row and read it. Who is able to read the most words correctly?

On Friday we would normally have our CELEBRATION awards assembly. Can you think of a reason someone else in your household has been a good bucket filler this week? You could make your own certificates and have your own awards assembly

As a class we love sharing different stories, and you are always telling us about the stories you have at home. Today we would like you to choose one of these stories from around your home and spend time reading it. Choose one part of the story – how could you change it to make the story more interesting? Let us know what story you choose and how you chose to change it.

We all need a nice break from learning, I’ll get myself a nice drink and do something to give my brain a little break. Can you think of all the games you enjoyed playing at playtime in school? Teach someone at home how to play one of them and enjoy spending some fun time together outside.

You’ve all been doing some fabulous measuring work this week. Can you make your own ruler? Remember to add the correct measurements. Mrs Rose and Mrs Hewitt would like to try using them when you come back to school.

Being at home for lunch is very different from school. Normally at school you all empty your own plates and help put them away. Today at home can you wash the pots after lunch to help your grown-up?

Over the past few months you’ve all shown us your fabulous individual dance moves – we had some lovely Zebras when we performed our “Greedy Zebra” dance. Can you create different dance moves for 5 different animals? Try and make these animals as different as possible e.g. fish, dog or monkey.

I know you will have all been working just at hard at home as you do in school so now it’s time to have some fun and do something you really enjoy!

    Story time

See the source imageHopefully you enjoyed your time creating the different animal dances. How about now we think back to our Greedy Zebra dance some more and read the Greedy Zebra story. If you listen to an online version you could even show your grown-up some of our wonderful dance moves while listening. Just like yesterday if you click on the book it will take you to an online version of the story.

Message for today

Remember it’s important to have a nice rest over the weekend, if the lovely weather continues. I think I will spend my weekend doing some gardening what about you?

We hope you’ve enjoyed this week’s activities. Keep up your blogging and let us know how you are all doing at home.

Stay happy and healthy everyone!

We miss you!
