Home Learning Tasks for The Wonderful Wolves

Good morning everyone, I hope you are doing well. I have been sharing all the tasks I have been receiving, from you, with Miss Jones and Mrs Hallam. They have loved learning all about you – keep sending your work in for me to share with them.

Phonics / GPS

In phonics this week we have looked at the /f/ sound. The spellings we have looked at are “f,ff, ph and gh

Can you sort these /f/ words into real and alien words?

Collective Worship

This week all of our collective worship activities are based on one of our school key values ASPIRE

One of our favourite books at school is called ‘Giraffes Can’t Dance’ by Giles Andreae. It is all about Gerald the Giraffe, he really wants to be able to dance, but he thinks that he can’t do it. Do you think that he will have a brick brain or a bubblegum brain? Will he end up dancing or not? What would you do? What could you tell Gerald to do?

Mathematics

The video for today can be found at https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-1/ under Week 9 – “Lesson 4 - Comparing numbers (2)”. Enjoy watching the video, if at any point you do not understand feel free to watch the video again or pause it to ask your grown-ups for help. Then use your blue book to record the answers to the questions in the activity section. The activity sheet and answers can be found in the files section of the class page on the school website.

Acrostic Poem

This week we have been doing lots of lovely tasks for you to share with your new teacher. Today’s job is to create an acrostic poem for your name. This is where you use the first letter of your name to think of words to describe you. I have put mine below to give you an idea.
