Home Learning Tasks for The Wonderful Wolves

Good Morning everyone, we were wondering how many different /ay/ words you managed to find yesterday – comment below and let us know. Keep up all the hard work at home. We are sure you are all doing an amazing job.

Phonics / GPS

In phonics we have looked at the /ay/ sound. The spellings we have looked at are “ai, ay, ea, and a-e”. Can you read these real and alien words in the table below? Can you write them in different colours in your blue books – one colour for real words and one colour for alien words.

Collective Worship

Our Collective Worship value for today is RESPECT. Can you write a list of different ways you can show respect in your home or school?

Use your silly story map to help you write a short silly story in your home learning book. Retell your story to a grown-up in your home, which part did they like the best? Can you then make up a funny story together? Let us know what your funny story was all about.

At school we get outside as much as possible. I know you all enjoy your playtime so today try and run around outside and get some fresh air while we have some lovely sunshine.

Choose 10 small objects in your home and measure them using a ruler. Remember to make sure you start at 0 and not always the end of your ruler.  Did any of the measurements surprise you? Did you find any items that were the same length as each other?

At school we like to help and serve other people. Can you wash the pots after lunch to help your grown-ups? Use a cup to create a serve “bucket” to put your name in.

We recently visited Yorkshire Wildlife park. Can you locate this on Google maps? Can you then find 5 other UK zoos? What about Zoos that are not in the UK? Do you already know of any or can you find some you have never heard of before? Mrs Rose, Mrs Hewitt and Mrs Clarke would love to hear all about your favourite.

RE (Religious Education)

It is almost Easter. We all love eating Easter eggs at Easter, especially Mrs Hewitt. Can you help her by finding out why we eat Easter eggs at Easter?

Story time

Curl up on the sofa and read a copy of Dear Zoo. You may like to read this yourself, find a copy online or ask a grown-up or older sibling to read it too you. Which animal would you most like to receive as a pet from the zoo? I’d love to receive a tiger and Mrs Hewitt would like to receive a Lion!

Click on the book to find an online version of the story.
