Home Learning Tasks for The Wonderful Wolves
Good Morning everyone. Today is the day when if you are a Year 1 you can come to school between 12.30pm and 3.30pm to collect your reports. I am so excited to see you all again, I bet you have all grown so much.
This week in phonics, we are going to continue recapping some of the different sounds we have learnt during the year. Today we are going to look at /ow/ the spellings of /ow/ we have learnt are ‘ow’ and ‘ou’.
Today I would like you to create sound cards for the words below and use them to write the words. Once you have written the words using the cards I would like you to write the words into your book, saying the sounds as you write them.
bound (b ou n d)
brown (b r ow n)
clown (c l ow n)
ground (g r ou n d)
house (h ou se)
owl (ow l)
wound (w ou n d)
pouch (p ou ch)
Today we are going to have a look at the slideshow all about moving on to our new classes or schools. It has Cody the Caterpillar in too, the story that we have already read will help you to answer some of today’s questions. Find the slideshow on your class page and talk about each page with your grown up.
The video for today can be found at https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-1/ under Week 12 – “Lesson 3 - Writing time”. Enjoy watching the video, if at any point you do not understand feel free to watch the video again or pause it to ask your grown-ups for help. Then use your blue book to record the answers to the questions in the activity section. The activity sheet and answers can be found in the files section of the class page on the school website.
Summer Reading Challenge
This afternoon I am out of the classroom so you can all come to collect your reports from me. Mrs Hewitt is in the classroom with the Wonderful Wolves that are in school. Today as part of our summer reading challenge she has chosen her favourite book to share with you. Click on the book to listen to an online version of the story.
After you have listened to the story there is a lovely butterfly craft for you to make. I have put some examples below that you might like to use for some ideas. Mrs Hewitt is really excited to see pictures of the butterflies you create at home so send her some pictures to the class email email@example.com
