Home Learning Tasks for The Wonderful Wolves

Good morning everyone, I hope you are doing well. Just a few reminders today – if you haven’t sent a picture for your report please do that this week – we can’t wait to see how much you have all grown. If you would like to share a card for one or more of the members of staff that are leaving remember to email a copy of this to us or to pop it into the school office.

Phonics / GPS

For phonics yesterday, we began looking at the /f/ sound.

Can you read these different /f/ words? Once you have read the /f/ words can you choose your favourites and write them into some silly sentences in your blue book?

Collective Worship

This week all of our collective worship activities are based on one of our school key values ASPIRE

The story ‘How To Catch A Star’ by Oliver Jeffers is all about having big dreams and aspirations. Follow the link to watch it,

What are your hopes, dreams and ambitions for the future? Can you think of ways that you could do it, just like the boy in the story?

The video for today can be found at https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-1/ under Week 9 – “Lesson 2 - Partitioning numbers”. Enjoy watching the video, if at any point you do not understand feel free to watch the video again or pause it to ask your grown-ups for help. Then use your blue book to record the answers to the questions in the activity section. The activity sheet and answers can be found in the files section of the class page on the school website.

All About Me

Something very exciting is happening next year when you move into Year 2– the Fantastic Foxes is being renamed the Fantastic Field Mice. You will get to be the first ever class with this name. The teacher in the Fantastic Field Mice will be Miss Jones and the teaching assistant will be Mrs Hallam. Normally you would spend some time visiting them in their class so you can all get to know each other. That isn’t possible this year so instead, we are going to create an “All About Me Suitcase” that I can share with Miss Jones and Mrs Hallam so they know lots about you before you start in the Fantastic Field Mice next year.

I have put a link to a suitcase below but you can create your suitcase any way you like. You can include things like

  • Name and age
  • Who is in your family
  • What you want to be when you grow up
  • A wish for next year
  • A self-portrait
  • Favourite things e.g. colour, food, book, song, nursery rhyme etc
