Home Learning Tasks for The Wonderful Wolves
Good Morning everyone. I have received even more wonderful pictures of you with your Wolves, please keep sending them in so I have one for your report.
Phonics / GPS
This week I would like us to focus on poly-syllabic words, specifically words with 2 syllables. Today I am going to write a list of words – can you ask your children to read the first syllable (before the forward slash) then read the second syllable (the part after the forward slash) and then put the two syllables together. Once they have done this can they write the word down first writing each syllable on its own line and then as a whole word underneath – I have given an example at the bottom of the words.
bash/ful
gate/crash
cree/py
snow/flake
her/mit
bread/crumb
Example for when the children are writing – splin/ter
First line splin ter
splinter
Collective Worship
In all of our classes in school, we are learning new things every day. One way we do this is by having a positive attitude to our learning and ensuring that we do not give up and keep on trying even when we find things difficult. We have enjoyed reading a book called ‘Bubble gum brain’ to help us learn more about how we can stretch our brains to keep on learning new things every day. Have a look at the story in the link and think of some of the things you can do now, which you could not do at the start of the year. How stretchy is your bubble gum brain?

Mathematics
The video for today can be found at https://vimeo.com/428006174 it should be entitled “Week 8 - Alternative Lesson 3 - Compare numbers within 50". Enjoy watching the video, if at any point you do not understand feel free to watch the video again or pause it to ask your grown-ups for help. Then use your blue book to record the answers to the questions in the activity section. The activity sheet and answers can be found in the files section of the class page on the school website.
Wolf Motto
In our class, we have lots of different mottos. We use a motto to help us be ready to go to the hall. To help remind us what to do with the equipment once we have used it and also more recently to help us remember what to do when we sneeze.
Your task for today is to create a motto that could be used within the Wonderful Wolf classroom next year. Write this motto onto a poster and send it to us so we can put it in the classroom ready for next year
