Home Learning Tasks for The Wonderful Wolves

Good Morning, everyone. Thank you to those of you who sent in pictures of your hedgehogs for our snuffle station. It looks so much more colourful and inviting. If you have not done your hedgehog yet do not worry we will still be able to add it to the display over the next few days.

How school is now.

The classrooms all around school look very different from what you are used to. Lots of the furniture has been removed and the furniture and toys that are still in the classrooms have been spread out to try to keep us all safe.

I have uploaded a PowerPoint to the file section of the school website called “Teddy Returns to School.” I would like you to look through this PowerPoint and think of any questions you might like to ask if you return to school in the next few weeks. The children in school can ask these questions face to face, but you can email them to us for us to answer.

Collective Worship

Our Collective Worship value for today is RESPECT.

Can you remember the part of the slideshow yesterday that showed three friends that we are linked together? At the moment we can’t link arms with our friends, but we can think about them and share our love and respect for them. Can you choose two friends and draw a picture of all three of you together? You could add a message too. Send your picture to your teacher using your class email so that we can print them and display them around school.

It has been raining so much today I am hoping there is enough rain for you to be able to put on a pair of wellies or old shoes, go outside, and enjoy jumping in the puddles.

The video today can be found at https://vimeo.com/420581449 and is called “Week 6 - Alternative Lesson 2 - Recognise and name 2-D shapes”. Enjoy watching the video, if at any point you do not understand feel free to watch the video again or pause it to ask your grown-ups for help. Then use your blue book to record the answers to the questions in the activity section. The activity sheet and answers can be found in the files section of the class page on the school website.

When I checked the weather at school this morning it is unfortunately meant to be raining at lunchtime today, the rain will be unusual after the beautiful sunny weather we have grown used to. Use the time you might have to spend inside to play a board game with some of the people in your home.

Germs and handwashing

Whilst we are in school, we are washing our hands lots and lots. The children and staff are washing their hands when they arrived in school, every time they come in from outside, after they have used the toilet and before and after eating and drinking.

The reason that hand washing is so important is that it kills all of the germs that like to live on our hands. To kill the germs it is really important that we use soap and wash our hands for at least 20 seconds.

I have uploaded a “Pepper and Soap Experiment” into the files section of the class website. I thought it might be interesting for you to try and see how important soap is at keeping our hands clean.

Mrs Scrivens always tells us that a smile is infectious. This means if you smile at people, they can’t help but smile back. Today I have found you a lovely little book about how positive actions of one person have a positive impact on other people. Click on the picture to listen to an online version of the story.
