Miss K. Scrivens - Headteacher (NPQH)

I have been Headteacher of this wonderful Infant School and Nursery since September 2007.  I am passionate about giving children the very best start in life and helping them achieve their potential.  I love music and singing and creating a wonderful learning environment for the children where they feel happy and secure and love to learn.  Keeping fit forms a big part of my life outside school and I have many wonderful friends who share the fitness craze with me!

Miss C. Jones - Assistant Headteacher and Fantastic Field Mice Teacher

I have been the Assistant Headteacher since 2008.  I have taught all year groups and love seeing the progress children make in each stage of their learning.  I hold expertise in mathematics teaching and I help all children with any bullying issues that happen in school and ensure our procedures in this area are rigorous and robust.  I love music of all kinds and will often be found at live gigs!

Mrs S. Rivington - Business Manager

I am the first person you will see when visiting our school.  I offer a friendly face and advice and support to all parents, carers, family members and visitors.  I also ensure the school is in a healthy financial state and carry out all necessary secretarial roles.  I feel a big part of this school since I have been involved with Langley Mill Infants ever since my now grown up children attended.

Mrs C. Goulding - SENDCo

I became a member of the Langley Mill team in September 2017 and I love working here.  The staff support each other  very well in providing the highest level of education for the children and their care for every individual and their needs is second to none.  I work one day each week in school, ensuring that all children with additional needs and/or disabilities have the right support to help them fully access the whole of school life and make important next steps.  I hold a high level of experience and expertise in the field of SEND and have recently gained an MEd in SEN and Inclusion.

Miss L. Gordon - EYFS Lead and Dazzling Dormice Teacher

I have worked at this school since being a trainee teacher here and I have spent many years becoming highly skilled with teaching early years pupils. I love nursery and reception and support all staff in these years to ensure quality learning through play. It never ceases to amaze me how much the children learn in their first few years of schooling and I feel privileged to be part of their formative years. I love spending time with family and friends after school – especially if 80s music is involved!

Mrs D. Dawson - Pastoral Manager

I have had lots of different roles at this school and at the heart of them all have been the children. I will do whatever I can to help remove barriers to learning for the children and their families. I provide lots of one to one support to individual children, helping them with any social, emotional and mental health issues, and I have lots of links with outside support agencies. Out of school I love walking my little doggies, disappearing to my caravan in the summertime and my family is everything to me.

Teaching Staff

Miss D. Statham - Curious Cotton Mice Teacher

I started working at Langley Mill Infant School and Nursery in October 2019 and from the beginning felt a valued part of the school team. I am passionate about early years and love seeing children progress in the very earliest stage of schooling. I greet the children with a big smile each day and love getting to know their parents and carers. I enjoy being in the great outdoors and you will find me in the wildlife area for 'Muddy Monday' each week!

Ms P. Wakefield

Hi everyone, I am a part time teacher at this school and currently work alongside Miss Gordon in the Reception class.  I have worked in both eary years and key stage one whilst I have been a member of staff here.  I love science and get the children involved in investigative and enquiry based learning as often as I can.  I also enjoy teaching reading and work very hard to develop the children's phonics skills through our Sounds-Write scheme.  I am very interested in photography and take snaps wherever I travel.

Miss C. Chambers.jpg

Miss C. Chambers - Super Satin Mice Teacher

Hi everyone!  I started working here in September 2020 and I've already learned so much from the experienced and helpful staff who are part of the team.  Everyone is striving to meet the school's vision 'Always our best' and I've never met such a hardworking and dedicated team.  I love how much outdoor space and resources we have here at Langley Mill and I'm very excited to get the children invovled in lots of active learning.  I also enjoy my new role of staff governor for the school. Outside school I enjoy the gym and spending time with family and friends.

Mrs S. Stuart.jpeg

Mrs S. Stuart - Wonderful Wood Mice Teacher

I am currently working in the school two days per week, job sharing with Mrs Kelly.  We have moved from a Nottinghamshire Infant and Nursery School and have loved bringing our expertise to the Langley Mill team as well as learning lots of new ideas from the experienced staff here.  We both enjoy year one and seeing the transition from early years to key stage one.  The children always make lots of progress in this year group.  Outside school I enjoy delivering baby sensory sessions and have a love of craft.  If you like peg dolls, then I'm your lady!

Mrs E. Kelly.jpg

Mrs E. Kelly - Wonderful Wood Mice Class

I'm currently teaching a year one class three days each week alongside Mrs Stuart.  We have moved from a Nottinghamshire Infant and Nursery School as we wanted the challenge and excitement of somewhere new after teaching there for many years.  We are both highly experienced teachers and have taught in all early years and key stage one year groups.  I have a love of English and I'm looking forward to learning about the Sounds-Write phonics scheme that is used here.  I love how much value the school places on the development of reading skills; a value I also hold dear.

Supply Staff

Mrs A. Nash - Supply Teacher

I am a regular supply teacher for the school and enjoy teaching each class.  I love the ethos of infant schools, believing that early education is vital in developing children’s love of learning.  I have lots of fun with the children in school and try and make their learning memorable.  Family is very important to me and outside school we go on many adventures together.  I also love running and leading the local scout group.

Mrs M. Arnold - Supply Teacher

I have worked at this school for many years since being a Newly Qualified Teacher several years ago.  I have worked across all the age groups with all of the different members of staff.  I have embraced the changes that education has seen over recent years and do my upmost to keep abreast of current thinking within schools.  I love my holidays and if I’m not in school I’ll be off sunning myself somewhere warm by the sea or in my beloved countryside caravan!

Teaching & Learning Assistants

Mrs S. Robinson - Teaching and Learning Assistant

My own children attended this school and I have always loved being a part of it.  I have been in the early years for several years now as I really enjoying setting up quality play activities, both indoors and out.  I love watching the children engaged in their play and all the learning that takes place without them even realising it.  This school offers great opportunities for the children and I’m proud to play my part in this.  Outside of school, I love walking my dogs, staying in my caravan and watching exciting dramas on Netflix!

Mrs H. Marriott.jpg

Mrs H. Marriott - Reading Champion

I feel blessed to be able to work in this school; it has a real family feel.  I help in all classes as the 'Reading Champion'.  I love supporting children in developing reading skills and believe I can help all children progress in this area.  I try and get the children to ‘catch the reading bug’, seeing this as the cornerstone to the rest of the curriculum.  You will also see me supporting at breakfast club and lunch times. I’m obsessed with Harry Potter and love my new life with my dog.

Miss A. Jordan(1).jpg

Miss A. Jordan - Teaching and Learning Assistant

I started working at the school in September 2021 and have loved my time here so far. I have supported learning in all year groups this school year and I'm currentlly enjoying my time in Year One with Miss Chambers. I am a real bookworm and want to pass my love of literature onto children, so I really enjoy reading with the children. I have been made to feel very welcome as a new member of staff and I can't wait to get to know all of the children and their families.  The school places the highest importance on reading and I love the aim that every child will leavel being a fluent reader.

Mrs C. Clarke.jpg

Mrs C. Clarke - Teaching and Learning Assistant

I carried out my child development training in the nursery here when I was a student and I never left!  Langley Mill is special to me as I am part of the local community that it serves.  I am very interested in living a healthy lifestyle and try to pass this on to the children wherever I can.  I became a mum in 2018 and again in 2022 and love using what I have learnt in school with my own children.

Mrs H. Hallam - Teaching and Learning Assistant

I have worked at Langley Mill for many years and have built up a great deal of experience and expertise through working with lots of different children and teachers.  I enjoy all aspects of school life and will always help out where I can.  I’m really enjoying being in year ywo at the moment, and seeing how much progress the children have made since they were in nursery and reception is amazing.  We offer the children and families so much here and I am always sad when we have to say goodbye at the end of  key stage one.  I’m a very proud mama too – this important job takes up lots of my time outside of school!

Mrs J.Hughes.jpg

Miss J. Hughes - Teaching and Learning Assistant

I have a passion for special needs and love working with children who require additional support to enable them to flourish.  I am keen to learn lots of new programmes and interventions and create safe and effective spaces that will cater for indivdual needs. I have been made to feel very welcome by all staff and can't wait to work in year one from September 2021. I really enjoy singing and hope to support Miss Scrivens with her weekly sessions - they sound such fun!

Mrs A. Purdy - Teaching and Learning Assistant

Langley Mill is a special place and I have learnt so much since working here as a teaching and learning assistant.  I have worked with all of the age groups and enjoy supporting classes in every key stage.  I enjoy creating displays and making the environment look stimulating and ensure it supports learning.  In my spare time I’m a keen caravaner!

Mrs H. Hewitt - Higher Level Teaching and Learning Assistant (HLTA)

I have been involved with Langley Mill Infant School and Nursery since my own children attended many years ago.  I trained as a teaching assistant here and went on to gain higher level status at this school too.  I absolutely love teaching and helping all children achieve their true potential, regardless of background and/or need.  I am very creative and I can often be seen putting up displays around school as I share the Headteacher’s vision for creating a fantastic learning environment. Outdoor learning is another passion of mine and I am Forest School leader for the school.  In my spare time I enjoy being with my two dogs and my family and continuing my creative flair.

Caretaker & Cleaner

Mr A. Whitworth - Caretaker

Most of my working life was in a factory before I secured the caretaker post at this school in April 2018, and I wish I’d been here much longer!  I feel a genuine member of the staff team and love doing my bit in making the school look clean and tidy and ensuring all areas are safe and well maintained. I spend most of my time with a mop, hoover, duster or sweeper and my toolbox! I’ve enjoyed getting to know all of the children and their families and as a Langley Mill lad I feel I’m really supporting my local community by working here. I love DIY and gardening and get to use my skills here at school. I'm also a great artist and you we see some of my artwork in school and on the school field.

Ms R. Riley - Cleaner

I support Mr Whitworth to keep the school looking clean and tidy.  You can tell how busy the school is and how many activities the children are offered with the amount of cleaning up that is needed everyday! The school is very well cared for and maintained and I love playing my part in this.  If I don’t talk a lot, it’s because I am usually on the other end of a hoover or duster!

Lunchtime Servers

Ms J. Housden - Dining Server

I started working here in December 2021.  Serving dinners to the whole school is an important part of the school day to ensure that every child gets a well belanced, healthy and nutritious meal.  The school has a special feel and I'm looking foward to many happy years here.

Miss A. Simpson - Dining Server

I have worked here since September 2020 and I love how well the staff support the children in trying new foods, developing good table manners and enjoying this social time with their friends.  I have worked hard with my serving partner to make sure our two sittings work like clockwork and with the help of school staff, we have a smooth, calm and peaceful dining experience each day.
