As a Derbyshire school, we follow Derbyshire County Council’s term dates. Please follow the links below for the current and forthcoming academic years’ dates:
In-Service Training Days (INSET)
In addition to annual holidays, schools are also allocated five INSET days each academic year to use at their discretion for training and staff development purposes. Occasionally, schools may also have to close due to maintenance works carried out by the utility companies.
Below is a list of when our school plans to be closed during 25/26 academic year. The list will be updated if any changes are made. We will confirm closure dates to all parents and carers via our usual communication channels i.e. newsletters, FaceBook and Seesaw reminders and text messages.
- Thursday 4th September 2025
- Friday 5th September 2025
- Monday 24th November 2025
- Monday 5th January 2026
- Friday 26th June 2026
From time to time, schools may need to close due to unplanned situations, such as extreme weather conditions, lack of water/food supply or emergency situations. Any such closures will be communicated to parents via text message.
In September 2013 the Education (Pupil Registration) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2013 came into force. These regulations make it clear that Headteachers should not grant approval for any leave of absence during term-time, including holidays, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
