Reception – Dazzling Dormice

Welcome to the Dazzling Dormice!

Welcome!

Welcome, we hope you have had the most wonderful Christmas and are ready for another amazing term full of learning and excitement! Are you ready to delve into the world of Terrific Transport?

This term is super exciting, not only do we get to take part in new learning, we also get to introduce new friends into our nursery class! We can’t wait to share all of the amazing things we do in our Early Years Unit.

Learning Focus

Our Topic ‘Terrific Transport’

This topic was chosen to develop the children’s understanding of the past, looking at transport now and then, including key figures from the past involved in the history of transport. We will also explore transport that is used around the world. In addition, the children will compare and contrast characters from stories and people from the past.

This will include information about awards on a Friday. Please check the app after school on a Thursday to see if your child has been chosen for an award in our special assembly on Friday mornings. Please make sure questions and queries are about learning. Any other issues should be directed to the main school office.

  • Dojo will only be responded to during weekdays between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm.
  • Dojo will be used to notify you if your child has been chosen for an award for our Friday Celebrations – 9am.

Please remember to continue to read at home at least five times per week and practise the sounds and key words in the brown envelope. Once you have 7 stamps your child will receive a brand new book during celebration assembly which you will be invited along to!
