Welcome to the Dazzling Dormice!
Are we there yet?
This half term our topic is based around the seaside, pirates and travelling. We will be thinking about what we would find at the seaside and comparing seasides from the past to present.
We will learn about the changes that take place in summer and have our very own special ‘seaside day’ where children will be invited to come in summer clothes and take part in lots of fun summer activities.
We will then move on to thinking about pirates and make our own treasure maps, follow clues to find treasure and learn all about pirate ships.
As it is our last term together we will also be looking at the transition from Reception up to Year 1.
Teacher: Mrs Harris
Teaching and Learning Assistants: Miss Hughes and Miss Frost (Full Time), Miss Clarke (am) and Mrs Summers (pm)
Please ensure you signed up to Dojo as we will use this app as the form of communication between home and class teacher(s). This will include information about awards on a Friday. Please check the app after school on a Thursday to see if your child has been chosen for an award in our special assembly on Friday mornings. Please make sure questions and queries are about learning. Any other issues should be directed to the main school office.
Please remember to continue to read at home at least five times per week and practise the sounds and key words in the brown envelope. Once you have 7 stamps your child will receive a brand new book during celebration assembly which you will be invited along to!
